WRRU uses Apple CloudKit with AES-256 end-to-end encryption and TLS 1.3 for transport. Location data is never stored on servers and is automatically deleted within one hour. No analytics or behavioral data is collected.

Is WRRU actually free?

Yes — WRRU is completely free to download and use. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no premium tier. Download it and share your location with anyone you trust.

Does it track me in the background?

Never. WRRU only accesses GPS when you explicitly respond to a ping and choose to share. The moment sharing completes, GPS stops. There is no passive, background, or continuous location tracking of any kind.

How is this different from Find My / Google Maps sharing?

Find My and Google Maps can share your live, continuous location for hours or indefinitely — often stored on servers. WRRU is purely on-demand: one ping, one response, one location point, deleted within an hour. You're never broadcasting a live feed.

Can Dro1d Labs see my location?

No. Location data passes through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure with end-to-end encryption. Dro1d Labs never has access to your location, and it's deleted from CloudKit automatically within one hour regardless.

What is Auto-Share mode?

Auto-Share lets specific trusted contacts get your location automatically when they ping, without you needing to manually approve each time. There's a 5-second countdown before sharing, so you can cancel if needed. You can disable Auto-Share per contact at any time.

What iOS version do I need?

What Data We Collect

How We Use Your Data

Profile Authentication: Your username enables friend connections within the app.

Location Sharing: When you respond to a ping, your location is encrypted, transmitted once, and automatically deleted. We never log it.

Auto-Share Mode: If enabled per contact, your location is shared automatically on their ping. Disable per contact at any time.

Data Retention

Profile data: Stored until you delete your account.

Connections: Persist until you unfriend or block.

Location data: Automatically deleted from CloudKit within 1 hour of transmission.

Ping history: Deleted within 1 hour of completion.

Third-Party Sharing
